Jazz After Dark has landed - direct from the whole planet to Parramatta Square. Sit back and soak up the cafe atmosphere with global grooves from 1940s Chicago, 1950s Louisiana, 1960s Rio, Persian chamber jazz and First Nations electronica. Grab takeout food and drinks from top-line Parramatta Square eateries and settle into a whole new world of music culture over 8 nights.
The space will be buzzing with a range of styles differing each night - from Brazilian, Persian, New Orleans, contemporary, electronic, and traditional. A packed program of original, fresh, innovative jazz presented in partnership with SIMA (Sydney Improvised Music Association). Parramatta Square has a reputation as a food lovers’ paradise and CicciaBella, LILYMU, Ruse Bar and Brasserie, Betty’s Burgers and Rivareno Gelato are open for Jazz After Dark. Eat in or grab their takeout options to enjoy at the outdoor Jazz cafe tables. Alcoholic beverages must stay within the restaurant and bar venues for licensing reasons, but food, soft drinks and coffees can be brought over to the jazz tables.
Parramatta Nights is proudly funded by NSW Government’s The Festival of Place Open Streets program.
